Nothing will prepare you for the spectacle that is the Great Migration. For the grazing animals, grass, which has withered away, might as well have run away. This movement of 2 million grazing animals through the great Serengeti ecosystem is the one of the world’s largest events.

Tanzania has a wide variety of mountain ranges and peaks. Trek up to the highest point on the African continent – Mt Kilimanjaro – or climb the second highest mountain in Tanzania which is often overlooked by trekkers – Mt Meru. The Usambara mountain range also offers memorable nature walks with spectacular views.
BIRD WATCHING
There are plenty of bird lovers who visit Tanzania only for the birds. There about 1100 winged beauties, from familiar species like ostrich, weaver birds, doves, korbustard, nubian vultures and fish eagles, to more exotic species like Egyptian goose or the spotted breasted ibis.

The warmth, kindness and generosity of the local people is truly remarkable. Perhaps that is because of the Tanzanian history. Tanzania transformed from colonial rule to a democracy without war, which was not the case in many other African nations. Tanzania has over 120 tribes, all united by one language, Swahili, who come together to form a rich culture that is intriguing, unique, and ever changing.
