Unforgettable Safari with Long Way Expeditions - From the start, Long Way Expeditions stood out as the best choice for our safari. Led by the wonderful local couple Anne and Abu, they were professional, responsive, and deeply... Read more knowledgeable about Tanzania. We also appreciated their commitment to supporting the local community—something that set them apart from larger international operators.
Anne crafted the perfect itinerary, balancing comfort, adventure, and efficiency. Transfers were kept short so we could spend more time on game drives and unique activities, including a Kilimanjaro day trek and a visit to a Maasai village. Accommodations were excellent throughout, from charming lodges to our unforgettable Serengeti tented camp.
Abu was an outstanding guide—warm, friendly, and incredibly skilled at spotting wildlife—while Anne’s behind-the-scenes planning gave us complete peace of mind. Their extended team, including Paul (transfers) and Mao (mountain guide), was equally fantastic.
Thanks to Anne and Abu, we were able to relax, immerse ourselves in Tanzania’s stunning landscapes, and enjoy incredible wildlife sightings while meeting wonderful people along the way.
Asante sana, Long Way Expeditions, for giving us such a memorable experience. We can’t wait to return!

A trip of a lifetime - I am writing a belated review regarding our experience. We found them trough a platform that works with responsible tourism operators because we try to benefit local communities when we... Read more travel instead of feeding large international tourism operators where profit rarely stays in the visited countries. Adventure is run by Ann and Abu which are part of the local community(Tanzania) and run in close collaboration with other small businesses of food supply, specialized guides and accommodation ran by local villages. All the trip preparation was transparent and customized according with our expectations and needs (one of us suffered a neck injury shorty before the trip). We enjoy nature , trekking and dislike mass tourism and all of this was taken into account. Our route included a walking safari in Arusha national park, a trekking trough the rainforest and up to Mandara camp (I struggle with altitude even at 2.7 km, caution advised), Taranguire National Park land of Baobás and elephants and by far my favorite, Lake Manyara, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and a couple of days in Zanzibar. Abu has a deep knowledge and total respect of the local wildlife, flora and the country, he drove us in complete safety and good spirits. We cannot recommend them more!

Awesome Safari Company! - I recently went on a 6-day safari with Long Way Expeditions. We visited 3 different National Parks and I’m happy to say that I did get awesome pictures of “The... Read more Big Five” animals during my safari. I can’t say enough good things about Ann and Abu, the owners of Long Way. I received excellent, personalized service while booking the trip as well as upon my arrival to Africa and throughout the safari itself. Abu is very knowledgeable about the animals, the parks we visited, and he has an eagle eye for spotting wildlife that I could hardly believe. On a few occasions, it took some effort for me to find an animal through my zoom lens that Abu spotted with the naked eye as we were driving! Although the parks are navigated mostly via dirt tire ruts all over the place, Abu never hesitated on making a turn or ever consulted a map. He has many years of experience travelling through the parks. The day before my safari, Ann personally came to see me at my hotel, and we sat together as she explained what to expect and how the safari would work. Ann and Abu were both very responsive to texts and emails whenever I needed information. There are larger safari companies out there, but I’d highly recommend this family run business that gives a more personal approach any day. Highly recommended, they are truly a 10/10 safari company. I couldn’t say “Asante Sana” enough for their work.
