PRICE:  from $2 598 p/person sharing

This tour is designed to maximize your wildlife viewing and cultural experience by taking you to Northern Tanzania’s finest parks, Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Eyasi and Lake Manyara National Park.

Best time for this tour is January, February, March, June, July, August, September, November and December.

DAY 1:  ARRIVAL IN ARUSHA

On your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), your guide will meet you and drive you to your overnight stay in Arusha.

Accommodation: African View Lodge
Meal Plan:  Bed & Breakfast
Drinks not included

DAY 2:  ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast drive to Tarangire National Park. During the dry season this area forms part of the migratory movement, with mixed landscapes including woodlands, baobab trees, and grasslands on the plains where cheetahs hunt. Expect great bird watching around the wetlands of Silalei swamp and along the Tarangire River. Look out for yellow-collared lovebirds, hammerkops, helmeted guineafowl, long-toed lapwings, brown parrots, white-bellied go away-away birds, and a variety of the kingfishers. You may hear a cry that sounds similar to the American bald eagle but is in fact its look-alike cousin, the African fish eagle.

Accommodation: Sangaiwe Tented camp
Meals:  All meals included
Drinking water 1.5 litres per day (other drinks not included)

DAY 3:  TARANGIRE TO CENTRAL SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast drive to the iconic Serengeti with game on route. Enjoy the magnificent scenery, from the endless plains dotted with termite mounds and famous rocky outcrops, to the sea of waving grass on the endless plains. Serengeti has it all!

Accommodation:  Tanzania Bush Camp
Meals: All meals included
Drinking water 1.5 litres per day (other drinks not included)

DAY 4: FULL DAY SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Today you will have a full day game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Enjoy the sea of waving grass, rocky outcrops, and the endless Serengeti plains during your morning and evening game drives.

Accommodation:  Tanzania Bush Camp
Meals: All meals included
Drinking water 1.5 litres per day (other drinks not included)

DAY 5:  SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO CRATER

After breakfast head off to Ngorongoro and descend to the crater floor. Ngorongoro Crater was formed from a collapsed volcano. Today it is a self-sustaining ecosystem with the densest predator population in Africa. You may be able to spot the Big 5 in a single afternoon!

Accommodation:  Kuhama Ngorongoro Camp
Meals: All meals included
Drinking water 1.5 litres per day (other drinks not included)

DAY 6:  NGORONGORO TO LAKE EYASI

After an early breakfast you will head off to Lake Eyasi for a unique hunting experience with the Hadzabe bushmen. Lake Eyasi is the literal land of milk and honey for the Hadzabe tribe.  They gather wild honey from the trees and milk in the udders of the nursing antelopes they hunt. They live by bow and arrow, the snare and the spear.  Their diverse diet also includes plants, rodents, insects, and birds. Survival depends on total co-operation among tribe members.

Accommodation:  Lake Eyasi Safari lodge
Meals: All meals included
Drinking water 1.5 litres per day (other drinks not included)

DAY 7:  LAKE EYASI TO ARUSHA

Early in the morning you will go hunting with Hadzabe bushmen, and later drive to the lodge to pick up your luggage.  Then drive to Arusha and transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight back home.
