From mid December the plains of Southern Serengeti (Ndutu area) becomes the maternity ward for the wildebeest migration, followed by carnivores. It’s a lion’s season, and you will have a front row seat to all the action!

The best time for this tour is July, August, September and October.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER TO ARUSHA

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), your guide will meet you and drive you to your overnight stay in Arusha.

DAY 2:  ARUSHA TO NGORONGORO CRATER

After an early breakfast we drive to Ngorongoro Crater. The crater was formed from a collapsed volcano.  Today it is a self-sustaining ecosystem with the densest predator population in Africa.  You may be able to spot the Big 5 in a single afternoon! Upon arrival you will do a guided walk at the crater rim (Approximate transit time 3.5 hrs).

DAY 3:  NGORONGORO TO CENTRAL SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast we descend to the crater floor and, in the afternoon drive to the iconic Serengeti with game on route.  Enjoy the sea of waving grass, the rocky outcrops, and the endless plains.  Serengeti has it all!  (Approximate transit time 3 hrs)

DAY 4:  FULL DAY SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Today you will have a full day game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Enjoy the ever-changing scenery and wildlife sightings during your morning and evening game drives.

DAY 5:  CENTRAL SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK TO SOUTHERN SERENGETI (NDUTU)

After breakfast drive to Southern Serengeti with game on route. From mid-December to March the Southern Serengeti plains became the maternity ward for the wildebeest migration, accompanied by an array of predators. It’s a lion’s season! After an evening drive, head to your overnight camp.

Meals: All meals included
Drinking water 1.5 litres per day (other drinks not included)

DAY 6:  SOUTHERN SERENGETI TO OLDUVAI GORGE TO KARATU

Today you will have the opportunity to experience an early morning bush walk, accompanied by your trusty armed guide.  Later, drive to Olduvai Gorge, an archeological site situated close to Ngorongoro highlands.
Finally, a late afternoon drive to Karatu for your overnight stay. (Approximate transit time 4hrs)

Accommodation: Marera Valley Lodge (Comfort Standard room)
Meals: All meals included
Drinking water 1.5 litres per day (other drinks not included)

DAY 7:  KARATU TO KILIMANJARO AIRPORT

After breakfast you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight back home. This will be the end of your Tanzania trip. Asante sana and welcome again! (Approximate transit time 4hrs)
