6 DAYS MIGRATION & CALVING IN NDUTU – SERENGETI

The migration and calving tour will take you to the best of Tanzania’s national parks of the Northern Circuit, including Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Ndutu area and Serengeti National Park. After a plentiful rainy season and an abundance of water and food, the Serengeti calving seasons begins. The plains are green and full of life with young wildebeests, zebras and other herbivorous calves playing and dancing through the plains…then along come the big cats. Watch the circle of life as it plays out before your eyes. It is a lion’s season!

DAY 1:  ARRIVAL IN ARUSHA

Upon your arrival day at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met with our representative before being transferred to your hotel. Our Safari expert will give you a detailed safari briefing that reflects your safari itinerary in the evening.

DAY 2:  ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, you will be heading to Tarangire National Park, where ancient baobab trees tower over some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Keep a lookout for hundreds of bird species. Tarangire is known for dramatic interactions between predator and prey at the park’s watering holes. In the evening after your game drive, you will arrive at Marera Valley lodge for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

DAY 3:  SOUTHERN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast drive to Ndutu in the Ngorongoro conservation area. During the rainy season the migratory wildebeests and zebras congregate in this area for calving. Predators of all sizes follow the migration, making this area full of exciting action.

DAY 4:  FULL DAY SOUTHERN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast you will have a full day searching for migration calving and predators, from big cats to wild dogs as they follow the migration. A day filled with action and excitement.

DAY 5: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – NGORONGORO CRATER – KARATU

After breakfast head off to Ngorongoro and descend to the crater floor. Ngorongoro Crater was formed from a collapsed volcano. Today it is a self-sustaining ecosystem with the densest predator population in Africa. You may be able to spot the Big 5 in a single afternoon!

DAY 6: KARATU TO KILIMANJARO AIRPORT OR ARUSHA AIRPORT

After breakfast you will drive to Arusha and transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight back home or extend your holiday to Zanzibar.
